The Willow Beds Tales are stories for children - of all ages.
The stories are collected into separate books. Here are short extracts from two of the books, 'Acorns in the Forest' and 'The Lost Pigeon'.

Here is an extract from Acorns in the Forest:
"Mark turned off the path, and walked carefully further into the forest. Nina followed. It was darker and the ash trees grew very tall. Suddenly Mark said ‘What’s that, Nina?’ Nina saw a little wooden hut almost hidden by the trees. ‘I don’t know,’ she whispered. There was a door at the front which seemed locked, a small window on the side, and a tiny chimney on the roof. ‘I wonder if anyone lives inside’ said Mark, as they walked quietly round the side of the old hut."

Here is an extract from The Lost Pigeon:
"The shiny green steam engine came slowly alongside the station platform, hissing and puffing, and stopped with a sudden clanking noise. The name of the engine was FREDERICK. The number in gold on the side was 103. The station Porter opened the guards van, took two large wicker crates from the train and put them carefully on the platform. There was rustling and squawking from the crates. The train doors slammed shut, and slowly, with hissing and puffing, and a long blow on the whistle, FREDERICK pulled away from the station. The engine driver waved to the children, who waved back. The Stationmaster said ‘The racing pigeons are in the wicker crates, Albert will open the crates and release the birds’. ‘What will happen to the pigeons, where will they go?’ asked Mark. The station Porter Albert said ‘The birds will fly back home, a hundred miles, and the first pigeon home will win the prize’. Albert slowly opened the lid on the first crate."
